Expanding the Executive Team

We are all very excited at the office due to the addition of Ashley Meehan to our Executive Team.

Ashley will be assuming the role of Director of Advanced Services with his primary responsibility being the development and maintenance of the Community Patrol and Alarm Division.

I met Ashley after he completed his BA at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design and I am proud to say that he was one of the original founding members of Genesis Security.

After a period of time, Ashley returned to Australia where he developed his skills in Client Services, Sales and Public Speaking.

Coming back to Canada was always his future plan and he returns to us here with his wife and three daughters.

Dave Sukic, our past Manager for this very important area is now concentrating his efforts on a full-time basis with the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association contract; more specifically the Ambassadors and Loss Prevention team.

Please join me in wishing Ashley the best of luck in his new venture with us and feel free to give him a call at our offices (604-684-7678) to discuss your Alarm needs.

Panhandler In Custody

Just a word of congratulations to one of my Loss Prevention Officers from the DVBIA Ambassador Program that was responsible for identifying the perpetrator involved in the violent robbery of a 79 year old Good Samaritan at Vancouver's Holy Rosary Cathedral Wednesday morning.

As the link to the story in the Province explains, this panhandler was given money every day that week but that still was not enough for this "person" who is a self-described "Professional Panhandler".

I am in agreement with what the VPD Officer stated in the story; it is best to remain polite, walk away and call police when confronted by an aggressive panhandler.

This is outstanding work that has been completed once again by our Loss Prevention team and I want to personally thank them for the effort all members of the team make on a daily basis and the contribution they are making to this community.

Outstanding job.
