Project Griffin

Hello everyone!
I just returned back from holidays with the family and I think I'm ready for another one after catching up on all this work. One thing that I would like to share with you all is a program that Genesis Security is very excited about. The program is called Project Griffin, which was initiated in the United Kingdom. The U.K. model is a partnership between the police service and external Security organizations and other public and private sector service agencies. Project Griffin is an organized information-sharing program whereby the police provide it's partners with weekly updates of their crime prevention and anti-terrorism concerns in order to have thousands of additional eyes and ears on the street. Genesis Security has been involved with initial consultation of introducing the Vancouver model to Canada, as well as being seated on the Steering committee with The Cadillac Fairview Corporation and The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority for ongoing development of the program. With Vancouver having the worst property crime statistics of any Canadian major city it was great thinking on behalf of the Vancouver Police department to implement such a program. The ultimate goal here which is quoted by Sgt. Brad Wallace of the Vancouver Police Department is "to increase public safety by supplying organizations and groups with information and support in order to assist them in their crime prevention efforts." I have personally seen the positive effects of this already with our involvement in Operation Cooperation, which is primarily a Downtown Vancouver information exchange between the Vancouver Police and Security professionals. I'll keep you all up to date on the programs successes and new developments. Have a great day!
