Your Community Patrol at Work

On November 15th, our Director of Community Services was in a local retail store when he observed a male attempting to use a counterfeit $20 bill. The male quickly departed the store when the clerk refused the funds and our Director at that time decided to follow the male out while telephoning the Vancouver Police.

Over the next few blocks, the male entered several stores and at one successfully purchased items with the counterfeit bills in his possession.

Our Smart Car followed the perpetrator as he boarded a city bus and followed him to another local retail parking lot, which is where he disembarked from the transit vehicle.

At this time, the Vancouver Police arrived and apprehended the male, recovering an undisclosed amount of counterfeit cash.

We remind all retailers with the busy Christmas shopping season already here that it would be to their advantage to be extra vigilant when dealing with their clients.

Cash and Credit Card fraud can occur to anyone at any time.
